John had his checkup with his regular doctor and his A1C is down from 10.4 to 8.6 so that was good. We found out right after he came back from Emory that the last 3 years he had been taking his insulin wrong!!! I was SO angry when I figured out that no one had ever told us the right way to use the fast acting and the sliding scale. I finally after research found out that your supposed to take a basal dose and ADD the siding scale amount so we are working on getting it under control. Last night he woke up around 4am feeling bad and it was 63 so a half glass of OJ and a small cup of chopped peaches later he felt better and went back to sleep.
